The HEED Sampler Kit contains 5 single-serving (30 g) HEED packets – one of each of the five HEED flavours: Cherry-Bomb, Lemon-Lime, Orange, Melon and Strawberry. That way you can try every flavour before buying a larger size. It's also a great way to find out in training how your body responds to HEED before you use it in a race.
For athletes who prefer a flavoured drink to plain water during exercise and want to try HEED or find their favourite flavour. For workouts and races of about 2–3 hours, you can use HEED as your main fuel; for longer efforts, Perpetuem should be the foundation. If you prefer to drink plain water, Hammer Gel is the better choice.
You'll find the exact ingredients and nutritional values of HEED, as well as the larger sizes, on the HEED page.
All five HEED flavours, one packet of each: Cherry-Bomb, Lemon-Lime, Orange, Melon and Strawberry. The contents of the kit are fixed and the flavours can't be swapped – so you're sure to try every one of them. If you want caffeine-free fuel, please note that the Cherry-Bomb flavour contains caffeine.
Only Cherry-Bomb: it contains 25 mg of caffeine per serving from green tea extract, plus 500 mg of taurine. Lemon-Lime, Orange, Melon and Strawberry are caffeine-free.
On purpose. Athletes' most common complaint was that sports drinks were too sweet. Maltodextrin is barely sweet on its own, and we didn't want to add sugar or artificial sweeteners – that's why we use small amounts of xylitol, stevia and monk fruit extract. The result: HEED isn't overpowering, not even after many bottles.
It's a matter of taste. HEED is for athletes who prefer a flavoured drink during exercise; Hammer Gel is a thick, concentrated gel for those who like to hydrate with plain water. Both are ideal for workouts of about 2–3 hours.
One serving of HEED provides roughly as many electrolytes as one Endurolytes capsule. For most athletes, that covers part of their electrolyte needs; in the heat, when you sweat heavily or if you're a heavier athlete, it's a good idea to supplement with Endurolytes.
Yes: it's vegan, gluten-free and kosher, and contains no dairy.
In a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. You'll find the best-before date on the packet. If you mix HEED in advance and keep it in the fridge, it won't lose any of its value within 24–36 hours – shake well before drinking.
Always test your serving in training, never on race day.
