Hammer fuels for every stage of your effort

Before training

Finish your last big meal at least 3 hours before the start, then drink only water. Right before the start, one serving of Hammer Gel is enough. Details: Hammer Guide 1 – Pre-Workout Fueling.

During training, up to 3 hours

For shorter efforts, Hammer Gel and HEED sports drink provide the energy: they're built on complex carbohydrates (maltodextrin), so you get a steady energy supply without a sugar crash.

During training, over 3 hours

For longer efforts, you need protein alongside carbohydrates. That's what Perpetuem is made for, along with its chewable tablet form Perpetuem Solids and Sustained Energy 2.0. Read more: Hammer for Workouts Under and Over 3 Hours.

Electrolytes

The Endurolytes product family replaces the minerals lost in sweat, in capsule, effervescent tablet and powder form.

After training

Within the first 30 minutes after training, replenish carbohydrates and protein: Recoverite or Vegan Recoverite. For a pure protein source: Whey Protein, Soy Protein, Plant Protein. For your joints: Tissue Rejuvenator. Details: Hammer Guide 5 – Proper Recovery.

Why complex carbohydrates and not sugar?

Hammer fuels are built on complex carbohydrates, not simple sugars. That means a steadier energy supply and a lower risk of stomach problems. Read more: Maltodextrin – the Best Carbohydrate for Endurance Athletes.

FAQ

How many calories should I take in per hour?

Usually fewer than you'd think: your body can only process a limited amount of calories per hour, so overfueling is a more common mistake than underfueling. Details: Hammer Guide 2 – Calories Count.

Can I mix Hammer products with other brands' fuels?

We don't recommend it: different systems have different formulations, and together they can easily cause stomach problems. Read more: Why You Shouldn't Mix Hammer Fuels with Other Systems

Are Hammer products doping-free?

Yes. Details: Are Hammer Nutrition Products Doping-Free?
