BENEFITS

All 12 Hammer Gel flavors in one kit

The Hammer Gel Sampler Kit contains 12 single-serving (33 g) Hammer Gel pouches – one of each of the 12 Hammer Gel flavors. That way you can try every flavor in training and find your favorites before buying a larger size.

What’s in each pouch?

  • Concentrated carbohydrate: 80–100 kcal and 18–22 g of carbohydrate per serving, depending on the flavor, mainly from maltodextrin – a longer-chain complex carbohydrate.
  • No added refined sugar: made from natural ingredients and real fruit, with no artificial colors or artificial sweeteners.
  • Four amino acids in small amounts: L-leucine, L-isoleucine, L-valine and L-alanine.
  • Caffeinated and caffeine-free flavors: Espresso contains 50 mg and Tropical 25 mg of caffeine per serving; all other flavors are caffeine-free.

The 12 flavors

Apple-Cinnamon, Banana, Chocolate, Espresso, Huckleberry, Nocciola (Hazelnut-Chocolate), Orange, Peanut Butter, Peanut Butter-Chocolate, Raspberry, Tropical and Vanilla. All flavors except Nocciola are vegan.

Who is it for?

Runners, cyclists, triathletes and anyone who wants easy-to-dose carbohydrates during training or racing – as well as anyone trying Hammer Gel for the first time or looking for their favorite flavor. Hammer Gel is designed primarily for training sessions and races lasting less than three hours; for longer efforts, Perpetuem or Sustained Energy should be the foundation of your fueling, with the gel as a supplementary energy source.

You’ll find the exact ingredients and nutritional values of every flavor, as well as the larger sizes, on the Hammer Gel page.

FAQ

Which flavors are in the kit?

All 12 Hammer Gel flavors, one pouch of each. The contents of the kit are fixed and the flavors can’t be swapped – so you’re sure to try every one of them. Please note that Espresso and Tropical contain caffeine, the peanut butter flavors contain peanuts, and Nocciola contains hazelnuts and milk.

Which flavors contain caffeine?

Espresso contains 50 mg and Tropical 25 mg of caffeine per serving. The other ten flavors are caffeine-free. If you take several caffeinated gels during a training session or race, keep track of your total caffeine intake.

How many gels do I need?

For efforts lasting less than three hours, we recommend one serving about 10 minutes before the start, then one every 45 minutes. A two-hour training session therefore takes roughly 3–4 pouches, so 12 pouches can cover several longer sessions or one or two races.

Why does Hammer Gel contain maltodextrin?

Maltodextrin is a longer-chain complex carbohydrate that lets you take in an adequate amount of carbohydrate with a relatively small amount of gel. You can drink water separately alongside the concentrated gel, so you can adjust your fluid intake to the weather, the intensity and how much you sweat.

Should I use Hammer Gel or HEED?

It’s a matter of taste. Hammer Gel is a thick, concentrated carbohydrate gel – the best choice if you like to hydrate with plain water during exercise. HEED is a powdered sports drink that gives you carbohydrate and fluid in one bottle.

Are the gels vegan?

All flavors except Nocciola are vegan. Nocciola contains milk and hazelnuts, and the peanut butter flavors contain peanuts.

How should I store them?

In a cool, dry place, away from direct heat and sunlight. You’ll find the best-before date on the pouch. Because of the natural ingredients, the color and thickness of the gel may vary slightly from batch to batch – this doesn’t affect its quality.

HOW TO USE

For training sessions and races lasting less than three hours

  • Take one serving about 10 minutes before the start of your training session or race, then one every 45 minutes during exercise.
  • Drink 470–770 ml of water per hour, depending on the weather, the intensity and how much you sweat.

For efforts longer than three hours

  • Perpetuem or Sustained Energy should be the foundation of your fueling; use Hammer Gel as a supplementary energy source, for harder efforts or to add flavor variety.
  • If you use more than one fuel, add up the calories from all products together.

Tips

  • Carry as many pouches as you need for the duration of your session; keep the torn-off tab and the empty pouch until you reach the next waste bin.
  • You can also dilute the gel with water and mix it into your bottle: 1–2 servings in a 600–770 ml bottle of water – drink one bottle per hour during exercise.
  • In temperatures above 27 °C and during long efforts, make sure you also replace electrolytes separately, for example with Endurolytes.

Important information

  • Espresso (50 mg) and Tropical (25 mg) contain caffeine: not recommended for children or pregnant or breastfeeding women. If you take several caffeinated gels, keep track of your total caffeine intake.
  • Allergens: Peanut Butter and Peanut Butter-Chocolate contain peanuts; Nocciola contains hazelnuts and milk. All flavors are made in a facility that also processes milk, soy, eggs, tree nuts, wheat, fish and sesame.
