Why does electrolyte replacement matter?

When you sweat, you lose not only water but also sodium, chloride, potassium, magnesium and calcium. These minerals are needed for muscle function and fluid balance. At Hammer, the goal is not as much salt as possible, but precisely dosed, full-spectrum replacement, kept separate from calories and fluids and tailored to your own needs. In detail: Hammer Guide 4 – Electrolyte Replacement.

Which electrolyte product is right for you?

  • Endurolytes – full-spectrum electrolyte capsules with sodium, chloride, calcium, magnesium, potassium and manganese. You dose them capsule by capsule, so you can match them precisely to your workload and the weather. The go-to choice for most training sessions and races.
  • Endurolytes Extreme – three times as much sodium and potassium as classic Endurolytes. For heatwaves, high humidity and heavy sweaters.
  • Endurolytes Extreme Powder – Endurolytes Extreme in powder form, watermelon flavour. Mix it into your bottle and replace electrolytes without capsules.
  • Endurolytes Fizz – effervescent electrolyte tablets that dissolve quickly in water. For shorter workouts, hot days and everyday hydration.
  • HEED sports drink – carbohydrates and full-spectrum electrolytes in one drink, for efforts of up to 3 hours, with no added sugar and no citric acid.

How to use them

Electrolyte needs vary from person to person and from day to day: they depend on body weight, sweat rate, temperature and the length of the effort. Start with a smaller dose and increase it gradually in the heat or during longer efforts. You'll find exact dosing on each product page. FAQ

Are salt tablets enough?

Salt only replaces sodium and chloride, but when you sweat you also lose potassium, magnesium and calcium. That's why a full-spectrum electrolyte is the better choice. Read more: Electrolyte replacement – how to do it right

Do I need separate electrolytes if I drink HEED?

HEED contains electrolytes and is often enough for shorter efforts. For longer efforts or in the heat, you can top it up with Endurolytes capsules. Why it pays to handle energy, electrolytes and fluids separately: read our article.
