Liquid omega-3 fish oil – EPA and DHA in triglyceride form, no softgels

Liquid EndurOmega is molecularly distilled, deodorised fish oil with a mild, natural lemon flavour: 1 teaspoon contains 1400 mg of omega-3 fatty acids, including 740 mg EPA and 460 mg DHA, in the triglyceride form also found in fish – roughly as much as 5 softgels. Every production batch is tested by an independent laboratory for purity and potency. Take it on its own or mixed into a shake; athletes take it as a daily foundation supplement and, during hard training blocks, as part of their recovery routine.

EPA and DHA contribute to the normal function of the heart; the beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 250 mg of EPA and DHA (half a teaspoon already provides this). DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function and normal vision; the beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 250 mg of DHA (1 teaspoon a day).

BENEFITS

Liquid omega-3 fish oil – a bigger dose, no softgels

Of the omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA are ones your body can barely make on its own, so you need to get them from your diet – mainly from oily sea fish. In our experience, though, few people eat enough fish on a regular basis. Liquid EndurOmega is made for anyone who doesn’t like swallowing softgels or wants an easy way to get a bigger dose of omega-3: 1 teaspoon contains 1400 mg of omega-3 fatty acids, roughly as much as 5 EndurOmega softgels.

  • High EPA and DHA content: 740 mg EPA and 460 mg DHA in 1 teaspoon.
  • Triglyceride form: the natural form also found in fish – not ethyl ester.
  • Heart, brain, vision: EPA and DHA contribute to the normal function of the heart; the beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 250 mg of EPA and DHA (half a teaspoon already provides this). DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function and normal vision; the beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 250 mg of DHA (1 teaspoon a day).
  • Mild lemon flavour: molecularly distilled, deodorised fish oil with natural lemon flavouring – without a strong fishy taste. Take it on its own or mixed into a protein shake.
  • Tested by an independent laboratory: every production batch is tested by an external laboratory (Eurofins) for purity and potency, including heavy metals.

What is it used for?

  • As a daily foundation supplement: many people take it every day, all year round – on training days and rest days alike.
  • During hard training blocks: as part of their recovery routine in high-mileage, joint-loading weeks and on days with sore muscles.
  • If you rarely eat fish: to supplement the omega-3 intake of your diet.

Who is it for?

Endurance athletes (runners, cyclists, triathletes, OCR racers, swimmers, rowers, skiers), team-sport athletes, motorsport and sailing competitors, older athletes, and anyone who pays attention to their omega-3 intake. We believe the right target for nutrients is not the minimum needed to avoid deficiency (RDA), but the optimal daily intake (ODI).

Prefer softgels? Choose EndurOmega soft gelatin capsules.

LIQUID ENDUROMEGA FAQS

How much should I take?

We recommend ½–1 teaspoon (2.5–5 ml) twice a day. Just 1 teaspoon a day (for example, half a teaspoon twice) provides 1200 mg of EPA and DHA, including 460 mg DHA. During hard training blocks, or if you rarely eat fish, many people go for 2 teaspoons a day.

What’s the easiest way to take it?

It’s easy to take on its own, as it has a mild lemon flavour without a strong fishy taste. If it still bothers you, mix it into a protein shake, yogurt or smoothie, or eat something right after. It’s best taken with a meal.

Does it need to be refrigerated after opening?

You can keep it in the fridge, but you don’t have to: the antioxidant blend (natural tocopherols, rosemary extract, ascorbyl palmitate) protects the stability of the oil. Store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. If you keep it in the fridge, the oil may thicken slightly – this is harmless.

What is the difference between Liquid EndurOmega and EndurOmega softgels?

It’s the same purified, triglyceride-form fish oil in a different format. 1 teaspoon of the liquid version contains 1400 mg of omega-3, roughly as much as 5 EndurOmega softgels – so you can easily take a bigger dose without swallowing softgels. You won’t taste the softgels when you swallow them, and they’re precisely dosed and more convenient for travel.

Is the omega-3 in ethyl ester or triglyceride form?

Liquid EndurOmega contains the triglyceride form, the form also found in fish. In one study, absorption of omega-3 in triglyceride form was 71% higher than that of the ethyl ester form.

Is it tested for mercury, lead and other contaminants?

Yes. The fish oil is produced by Marine Ingredients AS in a GMP-registered (Good Manufacturing Practice) facility, and every production batch is tested for purity and potency by the independent Eurofins laboratory. The fish oil meets national and international purity standards and recommendations – including the requirements of CRN, GOED, IFOS, WHO, California’s Prop 65 and the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.).

What do you make of the news about fish oil and the prostate?

In 2013, following a study published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute (an analysis of the SELECT trial), many headlines claimed that higher blood omega-3 levels may be linked to the risk of prostate cancer [1]. In our view, no such conclusion can be drawn from it:

  • The SELECT trial looked at the effects of vitamin E and selenium, not fish oil.
  • It did not record whether participants ate fish or took fish oil.
  • The results were based on a single blood sample, which only reflects the food eaten just before it, not long-term diet.
  • The difference in blood omega-3 levels between the groups was negligible (4.48% vs 4.66%).
  • Other risk factors were not taken into account: half of the participants smoked, almost two-thirds drank alcohol regularly, and 80% were overweight.

According to Dr. Peter Bongiorno, the authors drew far-reaching conclusions from a negligible difference [2]. Most large, long-term observational studies on the topic have not confirmed this link [3–6]. In our view, fish and fish oil are a valuable part of a balanced diet – and this study has not changed that view.

What should I take alongside it if I also pay attention to my blood sugar?

When it comes to diet, we think a Mediterranean-style way of eating is the best starting point: plenty of vegetables, legumes, whole grains, olive oil and fish. Among our supplements, we consider these a good choice:

  • Chromemate – chromium contributes to the maintenance of normal blood glucose levels and to normal macronutrient metabolism.
  • Essential Mg – magnesium contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
  • Endurance C – vitamin C contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress; it also contains citrus bioflavonoids, including hesperidin.
  • Liquid EndurOmega – EPA and DHA contribute to the normal function of the heart; the beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 250 mg of EPA and DHA (half a teaspoon already provides this).

If you have a diagnosed medical condition or take medication, check with your doctor before using food supplements.

What allergens does it contain?

Fish (anchovy, sardine, mackerel). The natural tocopherols (vitamin E) are derived from soy. Gluten-free, no added sugar.

Are Hammer Nutrition supplements tested by an independent laboratory?

Yes. Our supplements are made in accordance with US dietary supplement manufacturing regulations (21 CFR 111): every raw material used is tested for purity, potency, identity and integrity, and checked at every stage of production – blending, encapsulation, packaging materials and finished product – before it is released for sale.

HOW TO USE

Dosage: ½–1 teaspoon (2.5–5 ml) twice a day, ideally with meals.

  • Daily foundation: half a teaspoon twice a day (1200 mg EPA + DHA in total).
  • During hard training blocks, or if you rarely eat fish: 1 teaspoon twice a day.

Take it on its own, or mix it into a protein shake, yogurt or smoothie.

Pro tip

Take it together with Race Caps Supreme: the fat-soluble coenzyme Q10, idebenone and vitamin E are better absorbed together with the fish oil.

INGREDIENT BREAKDOWN

Purified, concentrated omega-3 fish oil – From anchovies, sardines and mackerel, purified by molecular distillation and deodorised. It provides the long-chain omega-3 fatty acids EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) in triglyceride form.

Antioxidant blend (natural tocopherols from soy, rosemary extract, ascorbyl palmitate) – Protects the stability of the fish oil. Tocopherols are the natural forms of vitamin E, rosemary extract comes from rosemary (Salvia rosmarinus), and ascorbyl palmitate is the fat-soluble form of vitamin C.

Natural lemon flavouring – For a mild, fresh taste.
